WHAT WE DO ----HANDS ON SERVICE

1. SIGHT!!  is our primary objective.  LIONS INTERNATIONAL has an ongoing world wide program, SIGHT FIRST, which we endorse. Denise O’Neil oversees our program at the local level to help those in need get eyeglasses This is  how it works..

The process for an indigent person to get Lions paid for eyeglasses in Arlington, Fairfax County and Falls Church begins with a visit to the city or county Health Department.  They will certify the need and arrange for an examination.  The Health Department will refer the patient to a source of eyeglasses and the process also takes care of asking a Lions Club to authorize the payment for the eyeglasses

Anyone who needs help can check with Denise and she can lead one through the process.

2. SIGHT  plus HEARING!! Afolabi Ojumu schedules the  SIGHT AND HEARING VAN on 3 special occasions yearly,

Memorial day, Fall Festival and Tinner Hill Festival. We screen many people of all ages and tell those with problems to visit a specialist.

3. SIGHT RE-CYCLED!!!  LION CHUCK MANDELBAUM RUNS THE NORTHERN VIRGINIA EYEGLASS RECYCLE CENTER
Thousands of used eyeglasses are checked and boxed to be sent to all parts of the world so poor people can see. Our members work there in shifts.

4. FORESIGHT!!For Sight, Hearing, Youth and Community we raise money to GIVE!! LIONS STEVE JOHNSTON. ANNE KING PHIL LOAR AND STAN LEVIN WORKED

They organized the 2008 GOLF TOURNAMENT which raised money to GIVE to the charities we support. Call it  PLAY AT WORK--- Putt--Chip and WORK-- THEY SERVED

5. OVERSIGHT!! We have a KING LION who raises his paw to get our attention and then points his finger to show us the way. He speaks softly, but his words have the weight of a ROAR. We need to listen to our Leader ,KING LION STEVE BELLING,
