Fellow Lions,
Well summer vacations are over and the kids are back in
school. Fall is here once again. We must once again rededicate ourselves
to our mission, “We Serve”. The need for our support and services has never
been greater.
We had a very good response to the Sight & Hearing
Screen van at the Falls Church Fall Festival on September 13th.
I don’t have the latest count on total number of people we screened but I
think it was the busiest I have ever seen it. Thanks to Brian Fleck’s
children, Becky and Greg, for helping out and those of you from the club
that were able to support.
The District 24-A Fall Conference is coming up October
3rd & 4th in Fredericksburg, Virginia. I forwarded
some e-mails with the details on the conference. For those who did not
receive the e-mails additional information can be found at
http://www.valions.org/.
Lion Sue will be attending the USA/Canada Leadership
Forum in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. I am sure she will find a lot of
good programs and fellowship there. I found my trip last year to the
USA/Canada Leadership Forum in Grand Rapids, Michigan to be very helpful
during my first term as your president. Probably time for me to revisit
some of my notes!
Congratulations to Lion Bob Porter on his 90th
birthday and a successful back surgery. He is now back at home and doing
fine.
Sincerely yours in Lionism,
King Lion Steve
